Biographie

In 1985, Dominique Gatto obtained his degree inmechanical engineering, with specialization in robotics,from L’École Nationale Supérieure des TechniquesIndustrielles et des Mines de Douai (France). Upon leavingengineering school, Dominique founded GIMEOR S.A. withfour colleagues who had obtained business degrees.Targeting the architecture and building constructionmarket, GIMEOR specialized in the development ofintegrated 3D/2D Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) softwarecalled ARCHITRION for the Macintosh operating system. Within 5 years, and after having raised $25 million USD inequity funds, ARCHITRION had become the worldwideleader in CAD software for the AEC market, and had madeheadlines internationally in the industry media. IBM Franceand SUMITOMO Japan were among ARCHITRION’s majorstrategic partners. In 1991, a worldwide leader in advanced computergraphics technology, ALIAS Research Inc. (Toronto),approached Dominique to establish a Europeandistribution channel for its new division of microcomputerproducts: Style Division! Three years later, a Europeandistribution channel for ALIAS’ Upfront (mainstream 3D)and Sketch! (3D illustration) products was in place, andincluded partners such as Modo (Italy), Ista Diffusion(France), Softline (Germany), Magirus (Germany), Aptec(UK), etc. Over 5 000 products were sold in two years. In 1994, Dominique led a consulting project that realizedone of the most significant commercial agreements in the3D software industry between France and the UnitedStates. The agreement was between the U.S. leader inMacintosh based CAD software, ASHLAR Inc., and theFrench company YONOWAT S.A., for a distribution contractvalued at over $8 million USD for the 3D software calledAMAPI. In 1995, Dominique launched a venture specialized in thedevelopment of real-time 3D visualization software and 3Dobject libraries for the mass market. In 1996, theCLIPVISION software was licensed to EXPERT Software Inc.,a Florida based company listed on NASDAQ and one of theleaders in the distribution of mass-market software in theUnited States. In 1997, EXPERT Software sold over 100 000packages of ‘ClipArt 3D’, making it one of the mostsuccessful mass-market 3D software in the United States. In 1998, Dominique partnered with CADAM SYSTEMCOMPANY Inc., a division of IBM Japan and KAWASAKIHEAVY INDUSTRIES, and the leader in mechanical CAD(MCAD) software in Japan. With over 40% of the Japanesemarket and seeking to enter the European market, CADAMcalled on Dominique to launch its MCAD/industrial designsoftware called HELIX in France. In 2000, Dominique founded TORNADO Technologies Inc.based in Montreal. TORNADO has developed and marketedinnovative 3D visualization and communication software forthe Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC), andmanufacturing markets. The company has raised $5 millionUSD, established strategic alliances with Matrox, Trimble,France Telecom, and negotiated key customers like Le Cirquedu Soleil, Leroy Somer (Emerson Electric)... In June 2006, Dominique joined forces with the founder andPresident of IFCS Inc., a very promising Asset ManagementSoftware developer and publisher. Until November 2007, heacted as the CEO of the company signing strategicagreements with Suez Group, National Bank of Canada,Ameresco, Equisoft, GBM and other key players. At the beginning of 2008, he co-launched BeVolution, a Co-entrepreneur firm whose objective was to bring softwarecompanies into the global market at the leader level. In June 2015, Dominique founded BePartners Inc. to continue the expansion of its worldwide activities to always provide the best services to i t s clients and partners. His experience and his passion inentrepreneurship, technology, and finance are an asset tothe entrepreneurs and investors.
